Illustration used for representational purposeLUDHIANA: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) arrested a Jammu and Kashmir resident after 510kg of poppy husk was recovered from his truck in Sidhwan Bet on Monday.
The accused has been identified as Madasar Basir Tantree of Watergam in Baramulla.
CIA officials said the truck was stopped at a check-post at Bhondri Sua in Sidhwan Bet. During checking, 15 bags of poppy husk were found hidden under the apple boxes.
Jagraon CIA in-charge Simarjit Singh said the accused was arrested under the NDPS Act. Investigation was on into the source of the consignment and its destinations, he added.
