India recorded a single-day spike of 47,704 positive cases and 654 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total Covid-19 positive cases stand at 14,83,157. The lockdown in West Bengal will be enforced on Aug 2, 5, 8, 9, 16,17,22,23,29 and 30: Mamata Banerjee
There will be complete lockdown on Sunday, August 2 and on August 5. The CM said on two Saturdays Aug 1 and 15 there will be no complete lockdown.
The lockdown will be continuing with relaxations till August 31. On all Sundays there will be complete lockdown in August, Mamata said.

India's Covid-19 fatality rate is progressively falling from 3.33 per cent on June 18 to 2.25 per cent as on date, while the recovery rate increased from around 53 per cent in mid-June to more than 64 per cent, the Union health ministry said on Tuesday.
