No ego issues between me and CM: Vishwajit

Panaji: Claiming that there are no ‘ego’ issues between him and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday said that he and the Chief Minister are on the same page working together to contain, control and manage the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

“There are no ego issues or differences. The CM and I hold healthy discussions and deliberations on issues. This government is committed towards the safety of Goa and Goans. I am very grateful to the CM for giving me freedom to work as the Health Minister,” Rane said while making a statement on the COVID situation on the floor of the House.

Taking on the Opposition MLAs for continuously slamming the government for the alleged ‘failure’ to handle the COVID crisis, Rane said, “When I was visiting the COVID Hospital and care centres to take a stock of the situation, the Opposition and a section of the people spread  rumours on social media that I was roaming around to topple the government.”

Alleging that the Opposition MLAs have failed to do their own duties, Rane said the Opposition should come out with constructive suggestions in writing.

“I want to tell the Opposition not to politicise the issue… don’t target the state executive committee. I am proud of the team Goa led by Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary,  the health secretary, my doctors and all frontline workers who are working tirelessly for the cause of our people,” the minister said.
