NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading lower in Monday's session.
Shares of ICICI Bank (down 5.41 per cent) , HDFC Bank (down 3.51 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (down 3.28 per cent) , Bandhan Bank (down 3.18 per cent) , IDFC BANK (down 3.16 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (down 3.09 per cent) , Axis Bank (down 2.83 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (down 2.77 per cent) , Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 2.69 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 2.42 per cent) , Federal Bank (down 1.74 per cent) and RBL BANK (down 1.42 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 3.36 per cent down at 21899.75 around 02:40PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 41.55 points at 11152.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 111.43 points at 38017.47.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, ICICI Bank, SBI, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Indian Oil Corp, Zee Ent., Federal Bank, RIL and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
