PM Modi calls CBSE topper, talk aired on 'Mann ki Baat'

KARNAL: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Sunday interacted with Panipat's Kritika Nandal, who secured 96% marks in CBSE Class XII (medical) exams this year, during his 'Mann ki Baat' programme held on Sunday.
Kritika Nandal, 16, belongs to Mehrana village of Panipat district. She did Class XII from DAV Police Public School, Panipat.
The PM congratulated her for clearing the board exams with good marks and asked about her role model, aim, and passion. In reply, Kritika said her mother, who taught her lessons of life and did not give up even during difficult times, is her role model.
When asked about her aim in life, Kritika said she wants to be a doctor. Wishing her best of luck, PM Modi expressed confidence that she would clear medical exams and said doctors dedicate their lives to society. "They have to work very hard throughout the day. They are serving society putting their lives at risk during the prevailing situation," he said.
After talking to the Prime Minister, an elated Kritika said, "It is a proud moment for me that the Prime Minister talked to me and congratulated me on my board results. I am thankful to him for his kind encouragement and motivation."
Kritika said, "I want to become a doctor and serve society. Now, I am preparing for the NEET exam." Saroj, her mother, said, "Kritika's father, Vinod Singh died two years ago due to brain haemorrhage. I stitch clothes to feed my family. I faced many difficulties in life and am working hard to fulfill my daughter's dream. The government should support her."
DC Dharmender Singh, local political leaders, and villagers also visited and congratulated her.
