If you love planes and Chevy Trackers, today’s your lucky day as someone has inexplicably combined the two.
Currently listed on eBay, this model is billed as a one-off that is part 1999 Chevrolet Tracker and part 2003 Cirrus SR22 airplane.
As you can see in the pictures, the front of the ‘caroplane’ is just a standard Tracker with a faux propeller speared though the bowtie emblem. However, things take a radical turn at the firewall as the rear of the SUV has been replaced by the body of a Cirrus SR22.
The listing is light on specifics, but it says the vehicle is a three seater that features air conditioning and a backup camera. It also has a PA system, sirens and seatbelts as it’s street-legal.
The listing doesn’t say what powers the model, but it does mention a four-cylinder engine. It’s likely the Tracker’s original 1.6- or 2.0-liter four-cylinder which had outputs 97 hp (72 kW / 98 PS) and 127 hp (95 kW / 129 PS), respectively. Regardless of what’s under the hood, it’s connected to automatic transmission which sends power to a four-wheel drive system.
While there’s no word on why this oddity was created, the seller says it’s great for advertising and taking to car shows. They also said it gets an “unbelievable response.”
The auction ends on Thursday and, as of this writing, bidding is at $6,766 (£5,289 / €5,805). However, the reserve hasn’t been met.
