Hospitals asked for information on visitors with symptoms

Ghaziabad: To improve Covid-19 testing in the district, the administration has directed private hospitals and chemist shops to provide information on people who approach them with influenza-like infection (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) symptoms.
District magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey said, “A five-level plan to identify infected persons and to provide appropriate treatment is being implemented in the district. Regular health updates of ILI and SARI patients admitted to various Covid hospitals are being taken.”
“A control wing for ILI /SARI has been set up as a separate cell whose functions are to keep a track on such patients, test them and arrange for their treatment in case of Covid patients. This wing is a part of the integrated control room at the district collectorate,” he added.
All registered hospitals will have to provide information on the numbers of patients with ILI/SARI symptoms visiting OPDs and those who were tested. They are also required to share information about Covid hospitals where people who tested positive were referred to or admitted, Pandey added.
Also, the health department has been directed to provide antigen kits to private hospitals. They have been told to ensure testing of all symptomatic patients who have been left out and to make arrangement to admit those who subsequently test positive to L2 and L3 facilities.
Every pharmacy will have to give information about people who came to take medicines for cold, cold, cough, and fever. They will note addresses and mobile numbers of such persons and pass the information to the Covid wing.
Officials said 900 surveillance teams conducting a door-to-door survey in containment zones have been helpful in identifying patients.
