Covid-19: Telangana RTA expands online services portfolio

HYDERABAD: In the wake of coronavirus cases still increasing, the state transport department has expanded the portfolio of the online services it offers via its official portal.
According to the officials, this initiative allows citizens to get a duplicate driving license, duplicate learner’s license, badges and new smart cards without standing in long queues at the Regional Transport Authority offices.
“The citizens can fill applications on the RTA website by staying at home from their personal computers and smartphones. After uploading all the supporting documents online, there will be three levels of authentication before the citizen gets their document,” said RTA Joint Transport Commissioner (IT & Vigilance) C Ramesh.
The service can also be availed through Friendly Electronic Services of Telangana (FEST) with the help of M-governance and T-Appfolio.
