KALYAN: The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) in its special efforts to rid the twin city of coronavirus and other monsoon related diseases on Sunday deployed over 100 members of health and sanitation department with Fire Brigade team and launched a special drive to spray sodium hypochlorite using fogging machines to disinfect the entire city.
The KDMC put into use 31 city guard jet machines, 4 jeep mounted fogging machine, 5 hand pump machines and 35 hand fogging machines for disinfecting purposes. Maximum areas of Kalyan-Dombivli were covered on Sunday, while remaining areas will be disinfected next Sunday, the civic body said.
Meanwhile, the twin city on Sunday reported fresh 330 fresh Covid-19 cases and nine death, taking the total numbers of patients to 18,495, including 307 deaths so far.
The day also saw 216 patients getting cured, taking the number of patients discharged to 12,365, while remaining 5,823 active patients are undergoing treatment in different Covid-19 care centres and hospitals.
