Aditi Rao Hydari's Versova apartment is full of bohemian accents, splashes of colour, and old-world furniture. Check out every corner from the home here
Aditi Rao Hydari has been spending her lockdown days in her Hyderabad home, meditating, singing, practicing Bharatanatyam, and chanting hymns. The actor was last seen in her recent OTT release Sufiyum Sujatayum, a Malayalam film that saw her playing the role of a Hindu girl who falls in love with a Sufi saint. Opening up about life under lockdown, the actor relays, “There are days when I feel anxious and weepy, due to what is happening in the world. But I remind myself that I am lucky and have a lot to look forward to and nothing to complain about. There is uncertainty but it has also been nice to spend time at home, get back to dancing, singing, and yoga.”
Pre-lockdown, the star spent most of her time in her Mumbai residence, an apartment located in the city's Versova neighbourhood. Hydari's city reflects her warm personality, which often comes through in her interviews, replete with wooden finishes and traditional accents. From her vibrant living room to her cosy bedroom, explore the must-see corners of the actor’s Mumbai residence below.
Wooden furniture with matching flooring and warm hues of red, brown, and tan give Aditi Rao Hydari’s home a comfortable, lived-in feel. An intricately carved wooden shelf with various cabinets and drawers holds several trinkets and makes for a prominent feature in the area. A low, beige sofa topped off with dark patterned cushions sits across two bright floral chairs, all three facing a wooden coffee table that takes centre stage. A large traditional Indian artwork, rendered in bright hues, features on one of the walls. White oval-shaped lanterns hang suspended from the ceiling at the junction of the two couches, and a classic burgundy Persian rug adds to the mix-and-match, bohemian vibe of the living room. Aditi Rao Hydari's seating area sits adjacent her large windows, panelled with beige chevron print blinders that are more often not rolled up to reveal a sweeping view of the city. Fun fact: This spot also happens to be her go-to spot for reading!
Across the living room sits Aditi Rao Hydari’s snug dining area, perched against a bright electric blue wall. It seems that the actor loves to experiment with the hues of this particular wall, as it’s also been spotted in a purple wash once. Here, a sleek wooden dining table stands surrounded by matching chairs topped off with more patterned cushions.
Aditi Rao Hydari’s bedroom is a vision in white, with light, summery bedding adorned with traditional block printed designs in shades of red and green. Snowy cotton drapes separate the sunny windows from the headboard of the actor's bed, while another corner houses her workstation, separated by another set of curtains. A two-level wooden console with lots of built-in drawers and stacked books characterises Hydari’s workspace, which rests next to her television set.
“I'm totally addicted to yoga,” Aditi Rao Hydari once told us, so it comes as no surprise that the star has a designated spot for her daily morning yoga session: her serene balcony. Like the rest of her home, this area too has an old-world charm to it, with its patterned floors and a short wooden jute-detailed stool. Potted plants pepper the area, and lush greenery surrounds this part of the apartment.
