Daylong monsoon session of state assembly today

Panaji: The daylong monsoon session of the Goa legislative assembly will be held on Monday for passing the state budget for the current financial year, as well as several important bills.

This session has been curtailed to one day due to the ongoing COVOD-19 pandemic.

The united Opposition parties however have expressed their plan to move an adjournment motion at the start of the session, as there is no discussion on the pandemic situation in the state marked during this session. The Opposition parties have requested the government not to bring up the budget in the House, during this session, but pass vote on account for the next four months.

The legislature department has lined up demands for grants pertaining to all government departments for discussion and voting in a single day. Altogether seven ordinances and five bills are also lined up for passing in the House, during this session.

There will be restrictions on the number of people entering the assembly premises during this daylong session.
