Man gives DC phone number during test

Mysuru: A youth played a prank by giving DC Abhiram G Sankar’s mobile number at the time of swab collection for Covid-19 testing in Mysuru.
The incident came to light when the quarantine-watch officials called the number to inform the youth that he has tested positive.
DC Abhiram confirmed that the youth has played a prank. He also made it clear that no legal action will be initiated. “No action except tracing (the contact),” he said.
According to sources in the health department, the prankster is a resident of Hebbal in the city. “The incident came to light when the officials called the number to inform him about his swab test results,” the authorities added.
The DC has requested the people to join hands with the district administration in the fight against Covid-19. “If anyone gives false information, it will become difficult to trace the contacts, and ensure proper and timely medical attention,” he added.
