Bangalore Karnataka Lockdown news COVID case latest updates: Karnataka on Sunday reported 5,199 new COVID-19 cases and 82 deaths, ANI reported. With this, the total number of cases in the state stands at 96,141, including 58,417 active cases and 1,878 deaths, the state health department said.

Earlier, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad informed on Saturday that lockdown will be in effect in Bengaluru from 9 pm Saturday till 5 am on July 27, ANI reported. He also said that legal action will be taken against lockdown violators.

A Bengaluru-based hospital on Saturday said it would ramp up bed capacity from 340 to 500 in two weeks to treat COVID-19 patients as steps towards tackling the increasing number of cases reported in Bengaluru, PTI reported. The M S Ramaiah Hospital took the decision after a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, who visited the hospital, the report added.

Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa had announced that Sunday lockdown in Karnataka will continue. A total lockdown will be enforced on Sunday across Karnataka and Bengaluru.
