MUMBAI: The risk of Covid-19 is higher for a healthcare worker in a non-Covid hospital than in a Covid-only hospital, according to a sero-positive survey conducted in 3 state-run hospitals in Mumbai.
The survey found while 13.5% of workers in state-run JJ Hospital – a non-Covid centre – tested sero-positive, only 8.7% of surveyed staff in Covid hospitals of GT and St George’s showed antibodies. The sero-prevalence rate among all 801 participants was 11.1%. Dr Nishant Kumar of Eyebetes Foundation, along with a team of doctors at JJ Hospital, did the survey.
