GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad health department has allowed home isolation to 49 asymptomatic patients in the district. In Ghaziabad this is the first batch of patients who have been allowed home isolation after the UP government gave the go ahead for home isolation.
The health department has also constituted a 12-member rapid response team which has been entrusted with the responsibility of keeping a tab on patients placed under home isolation.
“In the last two days we received applications for home isolation from 28 asymptomatic patients and on Saturday we gave permission for 21 more so as on 25 July we have allowed home isolation for 49 asymptomatic patients in Ghaziabad," said Ghaziabad DM Ajay Shankar Pandey.
In Sahibabad area 10 patients have been allowed home isolation followed by eight each in Indirapuram and Kavi Nagar areas. Seven patients each in Sihani Gate and Kotwali areas have been placed under home isolations while four are in Vijay Nagar. In Loni two patients are under home isolation while one each are in Modinagar and Bhojpur areas.
Patients who are allowed home isolation are screened through a list of
Covid cases available with the administration. “Out team of doctors first gathers information of patients to assess the severity of infliction under L1, L2 and L3 parameters and as per rules only asymptomatic or L1 patients with no comorbid conditions are eligible” said Pandey.
“If such patients place a request for home isolation our response team first pays a visit to their homes and ensures that the room chosen for the purpose is big enough with separate washrooms,” said Pandey. “The said patient should have a round-the-clock caretaker and they should keep stock of medicines along with a thermometer and oximeter with them,” added Pandey.
“Patients will need to download Arogya Setu App and Quarantine App and through these two apps we can monitor their movement and health. If a person moves beyond 100m from the place of home isolation, we get a message after which our response team can call him to stay indoors,” added Pandey.
Patients daily health status is monitored by the team which is noted on centralised google sheet all through the 14 day period of home isolation.
Patients are also required to sign an undertaking that they will follow guidelines failing which administration has powers to revoke home isolation.
