So far, India has recorded 13,34,309 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 31,353 deaths, according to news agency PTI. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Assam. Yet, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 63.5 percent.

Odisha's COVID-19 tally mounted to 22,693 with record 1,594 fresh cases in a day, while the death toll surged to 120 as six more people succumbed to the disease, a health department official told news agency PTI.
The state also registered a significant recovery with 808 patients recuperating from the disease. A total of 15,201 patients have so far recovered from the infection, which is 66.98 percent of the caseload. The state's active cases now stand at 7,339.
