A settlement has now been reached after a bitter dispute between the owners of Seiont Manor and Plas Glynllifon.

Paul and Rowena Williams had brought a High Court case against co-owners of the Gwynedd hotel and stately home Mylo Capital Limited after their relationship turned sour.

The couple bought Seiont Manor hotel, in Llanrug, and Plas Glynllifon, near Caernarfon, in 2016.

The multi-million pound redevelopment of the mansion, which was built in the 1830s for Lord Newborough, stalled and at the end of 2018 the couple entered  into a partnership on both properties with Mylo Capital Limited  - run by Myles Cunliffe.

But the properties have been dogged by issues which saw them both go into receivership.

In January North Wales Live revealed legal action had been launched by the  couple against Myles Cunliffe and Mylo Capital Ltd.

At an initial hearing at the Business and Property Courts in Manchester Julian Shaw, representing respondent Myles Cunliffe, said: "There are dark suggestions of illegality and fraud, saying he (Mr Williams) has been ‘conned’."

The case was adjourned.

Mr Williams's case had been in relation to claims of declaratory relief, breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation and rescission.

All of these claims had been strongly denied by Mr Cunliffe.

Now both parties have confirmed a settlement has been reached and the legal action has been halted

Mr Cunliffe, owner of Get Me Car Finance, said: “The settlement means that there was no finding of illegality or fraud against me or my company and I can now move forward in other ventures with this.

"I am extremely happy it has all been resolved so I can move on with Get Me Car Finance.

"I wish Paul and Rowena every success now that the litigation is behind us.”

Mr Williams confirmed a settlement had been reached.

On the previous plans to redevelop Plas Glynllifon, Mr Cunliffe said: "We had several offers on the table, but, for one reason or another, they failed to be finalised, which was extremely disappointing.”

The two properties remain up for sale.
