Victoria records five deaths, 357 new cases

Victoria has recorded five deaths and 357 new COVID-19 cases.

Premier Daniel Andrews sent the state's condolences to the families of the five people, who ranged between their 80s and 90s.

He said 37 of the new cases were from known outbreaks, while 320 are under investigation.

There are 229 Victorians in hospital, 42 in intensive care. Victoria conducted 20,313 tests on Friday taking the total to 1,457,546.

Victoria has 3995 active cases around the state with 313 healthcare workers and 500 people in aged care among those active cases.
