One such heroic warrior who has displayed the feat of bravery in Kargil war is Veerchakra conqueror Captain Raghunath Singh, resident of Gharota village of Pathankot. Capt. Raghunath Singh said that on 7 July 1999, Captain Vikram Batra got the task of liberating the enemy from the peak of Point 4875 in the Moscow valley, during which he was also with him. While fighting bravely, Captain Batra got rid of the top enemy.

The mission was completed, meanwhile, Captain Vikram looked upon his junior colleague Lieutenant Naveen, whose feet were badly injured by grenades thrown by the enemy.
