Hyderabad: Elderly man dies in road accident

HYDERABAD: An elderly man died after his two-wheeler was dashed by an unknown car while he was on his way back home from a vegetable market. The incident occurred in Hyderabad's LB Nagar on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Kankala Srisailam (60), a resident of Nagole. He was a vegetable trader.
Srisailam had gone to the NTR Nagar Vegetable market for work while he was on his way back home from the market, his TVS scooter was hit by an unknown car moving in the same direction.
"The accident occurred near Metro Pillar No. A1649 NTR Nagar while the car was travelling from Dilsukhnagar to LB Nagar. We are verifying the CCTV footages to identify the car and its owner," said LB Nagar inspector Ashok.
Police said that as the victim was not wearing a helmet, he died on the spot after sustaining a severe head injury during the accident.
A case of 304-A (causing death by negligence) of IPC was registered. Police are checking the CCTV footages to identify the offender.
