BENGALURU: A 27-year-old man infected with
coronavirus, who was nabbed on Tuesday for planning a dacoity, went missing from
the Covid Care Centre (CCC) at National Games Village on Wednesday night.
Following a complaint lodged by the CCC’s nodal officer
Gururaj Chalawadi on Thursday,
Koramangala police launched a manhunt for Irfan (name changed), a resident of
Ghaziabad district in
Uttar Pradesh.
Irfan and six others had planned to commit a dacoity near Jambusavari Dinne Main Road on Tuesday night. Acting on credible information, Konanakunte police had reached the spot and nabbed three of the accused, including Irfan. Four others had fled.
Cops recovered weapons,
chilli powder, a mini truck and scooter from the accused. Irfan is part of an interstate gang of dacoits, said a police officer.
Case registeredKoramangala police registered a case against Irfan under IPC sections 224 (resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) and 269 (negligent act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), and section 3 (penalty for disobeying any regulation or order) of Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.
