Noida/Ghaziabad: As many as 115 fresh Covid
positive cases were added to
Ghaziabad’s
tally on Thursday, taking the total number of
confirmed cases to 4,321 in the district. So far, 399 people have been
discharged. The
death toll in the district is at 64 and there are 1,015 active cases currently.
On Wednesday, 399 patients were discharged from various facilities. Officials said the government has issued new directives for testing and according to that, the daily target is 1,375 tests. The district has a population of more than 25 lakh.
Of the 1,375 daily tests, 1,000 would be done through antigen kits and 375 tests would be done through RT-PCR and Truenat machines. At the beginning of the month, the state government had fixed a target of 4,000 tests (3,000 through antigen kits and 1,000 by RT-PCR method) from July 2 to July 12.
Till Wednesday, the health department had conducted 77,776 tests, out of which 40,491 were through antigen kits. The district currently has 279
containment zones. Of these, 100 zones are in category 1.
On Thursday, Noida reported 66 new cases and 120 people were discharged in the past 24 hours. The number of discharged patients now stands at 3,516. The district has seen 40 deaths so far and has 910 active cases. The district now has 4,466 cases.
