TRICHY: The Trichy Corporation has launched centralised and zonal-level helplines to guide people who suffer from Covid-19 symptoms.
The operators at the helpline facilities in all four zones of the corporation will inform callers about the nearest fever camps and Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) where they can give their swabs for RT-PCR tests.
For those who arrive from Covid hotspots without informing officials, the civic body introduced a centralised toll-free helpline number -- 1800-425-5396 -- to alert sanitary department about the arrival of the people.
“If any residents with Covid-19 symptoms call us, we will get their personal details and inform sanitary supervisor and other field workers concerned to follow-up,” said one of the helpline operators.
The helpline number for the zones are as follows: Srirangam- 76395 11000, Ariyamangalam- 76395 22000, Ponmalai- 76395 33000 and K Abishekapuram- 76395 44000 and WhatsApp helpline: 83001-13000.
