Coronavirus India Updates: Tally Tops 12 Lakh As Fresh Cases Mount

India continues to witness an influx of the coronavirus cases as the highly contagious pathogen spreads rapidly in the world’s second-most populous nation.

The country added over 45,000 fresh cases in 24 hours, taking the total tally over 12.3 lakh, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on July 23. Of these, more than 7.8 lakh have recovered.

U.S. coronavirus cases surpassed 4 million, doubling over a span of six weeks after infections surged in Sun Belt states. President Donald Trump cancelled the Republican presidential convention in Jacksonville due to virus concerns. South Korea reported 41 more cases, while Mexico confirmed record daily rise of 8,438 cases.

Globally, over 15.3 million Covid-19 cases have been confirmed.
