BHUBANESWAR: Two personnel of
Odisha fire services have donated
plasma after they recovered from
Covid-19 infection recently. Director general (fire services, home guards and civil defence) Satyajit Mohanty felicitated Santosh Kumar Samal and
Tapas Kumar Rout, the two firefighters, for their noble work.
“We are grateful to our personnel as they donated plasma following a recent appeal by our chief minister Mr
Naveen Patnaik. I presented them appreciation letters, Rs 2,500 cash reward each and good service mark. Eight other recovered personnel have also volunteered to donate plasma. They are the role models,” Mohanty said.
Notably, Samal and Rout were among the 192 Odisha fire services personnel, who tested positive for Covid-19 virus following their recent return from post-Amphan restoration work in
West Bengal. All the 192 personnel have been cured and resumed their duty.
