Modi says Gujarat BJP will scale new heights under Patil

NEW DELHI: Recalling newly appointed Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil as a leader coming from a humble background and rising the ranks in the party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said state BJP will scale new heights under his leadership.
“Met the BJP Gujarat President Shri CR Patil Ji. Hailing from a humble background, he rose the ranks in the Party and distinguished himself as an outstanding Karyakarta. His work as MP has also been appreciated. Am sure under his leadership the Gujarat BJP will scale newer heights,” the PM tweeted.
Patil called on the Prime Minister two days after nominated as party president of the home state of Modi and HM Amit Shah.
Patil has also called on HM Shah.
“Under the leadership of Shri Patil, Gujarat BJP will be further strengthened and Party will once again win with full majority,” Shah tweeted.
A three-time parliamentarian, Patil was last Monday appointed as president of the Gujarat BJP in place of Jitu Vaghani, who completed his tenure. Patil is the Lok Sabha MP from Navsari in South Gujarat.
