The Allahabad High Court on Friday dismissed a PIL seeking stay on bhumi poojan ceremony in Ayodhya. The high court said that the PIL is based on assumptions. The petition was filed by a social activist seeking a direction from the court to restrain the respondents from ‘bhumi pujan’ for laying down the foundation stone of Ram temple at Ayodhya. The activist stated in his petition that social distancing norms will be flouted by the prime minister and UP chief minister and other dignitaries on August 5. The court said that this is based on assumption and dismissed the plea.
