Uttar Pradesh: 160 prisoners found infected with Covid-19 in Ballia district jail

VARANASI: As many as 160 prisoners, including a woman inmate, tested positive for coronavirus on Friday.
According to jail superintendent Prashant Kumar Maury, the health department team had collected samples of 594 prisoners. Of them, 160 were found infected with coronavirus.
He said that the infected prisoners have been accommodated in a separate barrack in the jail. They are being given medication and food as per the instructions of the health department.
No jail staff was found infected in medical examination. He said that the woman inmate has been admitted to the L-1 hospital at Basantpur.
