Agra: Three arrested for furnishing fake documents for Army recruitment

The accused
AGRA: Three youths were arrested on Friday for allegedly furnishing forged documents to get enrolled in the Indian Army in Agra.
The accused were identified Harkesh Singh (22), Adesh Kumar (21) and Hari Om (21). Based on the written complaint of Army recruitment board of Agra, the trio were booked under IPC sections 420,467, 468 and 471 at Sadar police station.
According to police, the accused had furnished forged documents such as caste certificate, domicile, character certificate and martial certificate during army recruitment documents verification procedure.
“During interrogation one of the accused Hariom claimed that he paid Rs 2.50 lakh last November to an Army jawan Nayak Shailender Kumar’s brother Vivek on the pretext of help him get through recruitment procedure in Army. Originally hailing from Jaswant Nagar tehsil, the accused got forged documents for Etawah tehsil as there were less number of candidates appearing for the recruitment,” said Sadar police.
“The other two accused Adesh Kumar and Harkesh Singh of Bulandshahr also managed to get forged documents from Gautam Buddh Nagar and Etah. Harkesh said he got fake domicile and character certificate for Etawah district for easy recruitment while Adesh Kumar got his forged documents for Etah district from a man identified as Sachin for Rs 3,500,” added police.
Rohan Botre, superintendent of police Agra city said, “We have got few names and address who are allegedly involved in creating forged documents for army recruitment aspirants. Our team is probing the matter and soon we will trace everyone involved in the scam".
