Representative imagePONDA: Following a complaint from a 19-year-old girl from Kerala, Ponda police on Thursday booked a 19-year-old engineering student from Karwar, for allegedly raping her several times between October 2019 and March this year.
According to the complaint filed by the survivor at the Ponda police station, the accused had last sexually attacked on her on March 16, this year.
While the survivor is an student at a college in Ponda taluka, the alleged accused lives in Ponda.
Both met at a reputed coaching class at Margao where they were preparing for a competitive exam.
The girl told the police that the accused forcefully took her to different places across Ponda and raped her on several times between October 2019 and March this year.
Police have booked the youth under Section 376 (rape) and Section 506 II (intimidation) of the IPC.
Lady PSI Rashmi Bhaidkar is the investigation officer.
