Rain lashes parts of Delhi-NCR

NEW DELHI: Heavy rain lashed parts of Delhi and the national capital region (NCR) on Friday, leading to waterlogging and traffic disruption in several areas.
IMD had predicted thunderstorm with moderate to heavy rain over many places of the national capital (Rohini, Bawana, Burari, Badili, Sangam Vihar, Akshardham, ITO, Lajpatnagar, Lodhi road, Safdarjung, Rajiv Chowk, Jafarpur, Tughlakabad, Malviya Nagar, Hauz Khas, Vasant Vihar, R K Puram) and Gurugram on Friday evening.

"Waterlogging has been reported on NH-48 at Narsingpur. Our traffic officials are on the spot to facilitate the traffic flow. Commuters are requested to plan their travel accordingly," the Gurugram Traffic Police tweeted.

"Thunderstorm with moderate to heavy intensity rain would occur over Manesar, Farukhnagar, Gurugram and few places of the south, west and south-west Delhi (Jafarpur, Tughlakabad, Malviya Nagar, Hauz Khas, Vasantvihar, R K Puram) during the next 2 hours," the Met office had tweeted.
