A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) sub-inspector allegedly shot dead his senior before killing himself in Delhi's posh Lodhi Estate area on Friday night.

Senior officers of the paramilitary force and local police rushed to the spot after gunshots were heard at 61 Lodhi Estate, a bungalow allotted to the Home Ministry, around 10:30 pm on Friday. When the police reached the spot, they came across two injured CRPF jawans. Police officials said both the CRPF officers succumbed to their injuries later.

Officials said a tussle broke out between the two, which escalated on Friday night and led to Sub-inspector Karnail Singh (55) shooting at his colleague Dashrat Singh (56).

The SI hailed from Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir, while the Inspector was from Rohtak in Haryana.

An inquiry is being conducted to ascertain the reason behind the incident, they said.
