Representative imageCHENNAI: Nearly 1.60 lakh small businesses in the state have received Rs 4,383 crore as loans under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme announced by the Centre as part of the stimulus package.
Various banks had however sanctioned Rs 7,000 crore to 3.5 lakh units, the state’s Rural Industries Minister P Benjamin said.
“We have also created a special (FastTrack) package to help MSMEs, for those units which fall under the Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) purview. We have also supported MSMEs to help in business opportunities in production of Covid-19 related drugs and equipment. We have given a six-month moratorium for EMIs, and an investment aid for micro enterprises worth Rs 56 crore,” he said.
He added that the state government had ordered to set up a special task force which will explore business opportunities for MSMEs based in the state.
