ULHASNAGAR: The Food and Drug Administration Department with help of Kalyan Crime Branch unit have arrested, a 56-year-old retired teacher from Ulhasnagar for allegedly black marketing tocilizumab injection used in the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
The arrested retired teacher Neeta Panjawani is a resident of Manish Nagar area in Ulhasnagar. The FDA team led by Drug Inspector Nishigandha Pasthe with help of crime unit of Kalyan on Thursday evening arrested Panjawani with 1 tocilizumab injection which has MRP of 40,545 while she was selling it at price of Rs 60,000 without bill.
Sanju John, senior police inspector of Kalyan crime unit who helped FDA team to led trap and caught her red handed by sending fake customer to buy injection said probe about from where Panjawani has got injection is still going on.
In this connection the police have registered offences under relevant sections of IPC, Food and Drug Administration's Regulations and price control norms.
