The result of the Secondary School Certificate examination conducted in May/June, earlier this year by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will be announced before the end of this month.

The exact date of announcement of the SSC result would be declared in a couple of days.

A highly placed official of the Goa Board stated that the answer paper correction and other things including adding sports merit marks have been almost 80 per cent complete.

“There has been a delay in declaration of the SSC result, as the paper correction was carried in a staggered manner by correcting question papers of one subject at a time, in order to follow COVID-19-related guidelines, including social distancing of the teachers,” the Goa Board official stated, adding that no teacher from Vasco was called for correcting question papers, as a precautionary measure.

“Later, teachers from many other areas such as Sankhali were also discontinued from this task, as the COVID-19 cases spiked in these areas, and therefore the number of paper correctors dropped,” it was stated.

The SSC question papers are being corrected at three centres – Mapusa, Ponda and Margao.

Altogether 19,680 students had registered for the SSC examination this year, with students residing along border areas, in the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka also appearing for the same at special sub-centres, in these states.
