As part of the Uttarakhand government's plan to compete with private schools, 190 state inter colleges in Uttarakhand are going to be turned into Atal Adarsh Schools. Under this plan, two schools have been included in the Mussoorie assembly to be turned into Atal Adarsh School. Students in these schools will be taught in English medium. Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi on Wednesday conducted a inspection of the Mussoorie Ghananand Government Inter College along with officials of the state education department and assured them of all possible help to develop the school. On this occasion, the school principal Ravi Uniyal told the MLA about difficulties in running the school. Joshi said that the government is going to turn 190 government inter colleges in the state into Adarsh Schools and some government inter colleges have been selected in each development block to be turned into Atal Adarsh Schools. He informed that the selected schools will be run as English medium center of excellence and will be affiliated with the CBSE board.
