While speaking at the G20 Digital Minister’s Meet in the national capital, the Electronics and Information Technology Minister of India, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “The digital platform needs to be responsive, accountable and sensitive to the concerns of sovereign nations as far as safety, defence and data privacy is concerned.” “We all need to acknowledge that digital economy must go hand in hand with data economy. We need to acknowledge sovereignty over data. Data must belong to sovereign nation concerned, to protect also the privacy of its people,” he added.
