2021 Mercedes C-Class Wagon Prototype Comes Out To Play

The upcoming all-new 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class should make its debut later this year initially as a sedan, with the wagon, coupe and convertible variants following later on.

The W206 Wagon, seen here fully camouflaged, will be aimed at the likes of the Audi A4 Avant, BMW 3-Series Touring and Volvo V60, featuring Mercedes‘ latest MBUX software, an S-Class inspired dashboard layout and the carmaker’s latest design language.

While the camouflage is abundant, it’s certainly not very thick, which is good for when you want to focus on a car’s design language and whether or not it’s equipped with production-ready light units, which this prototype seemingly is.

Looking at the styling, the upcoming C-Class Wagon kind of resembles the updated E-Class Wagon more than it does its current iteration, especially when viewed from behind. The tail lights seem to be less rectangular and more pointy than on the E-Class though, which was to be expected.

As for its interior, we’ve already peaked inside a four-door W206 C-Class prototype, which will feature a dual screen layout, but no longer side by side. The gauge cluster remains in place, while the infotainment display makes up most of the center console, along with the climate control area. It’s a very minimalistic design overall, just like inside the new S-Class.

The engine range will consist of various gasoline, diesel and electrified powertrains, among them possibly two AMG variants in either a C43 or C53, plus the C63. Some reports suggest that the entry-level AMG-powered C-Class will be the C53, featuring a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder unit with mild-hybrid EQ Boost technology.
