Nagpur: Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday caught zilla parishad education officer of Bhandara district for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs4,000 from an educational institution.
Deputy SP Mahesh Chate told TOI the owner of an educational institution in Bhandara had lodged a complaint against zilla parishad education officer Dilip Waghae. He was alleging demanding Rs5,000 bribe for issuing a no-objection certificate required for retirement of a school headmaster. After negotiation, the bribe amount was set at Rs4,000. As the institution head was not in a mood to pay the bribe, he lodged a complaint with ACB SP Rashmi Nandedkar.
A trap was laid and the ACB sleuths led by DySP Chate caught Waghae red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs4,000.
