Bihar minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav (left)PATNA: Senior JD(U) leader and state’s energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav on Wednesday called upon people to give preference to the development works being done by the state government while exercising their right to farnchise during the forthcoming assembly election.
Addressing his party’s assembly constituency-wise ‘Virtual Sammelan’ for Kadwa, Barari, Korha (all in Katihar district) and Alamnagar in Madhepura district, Yadav said, “If you do not vote in favour of development, no leader in the future will give priority to development work.”
Lauding the development works done by chief minister Nitish Kumar during the last 15 years, Yadav said the JD(U) president has presented an unique example before other leaders by implementing his motto of “Development with Justice”, in true spirit.
“A previous chief minister who worked on the policy of “maal khao aur jail jao” (take bribe and go to jail), not only put a brake on the development of the state, but had also put the vehicle of development in reverse gear,” Yadav said without taking name of any leader.
Yadav said, in the last 15 years, Nitish Kumar not only worked honestly but also did tremendous development works in sectors like road, electricity, education, agriculture and social welfare.
JD(U) national general secretary and state’s water resources minister Sanjay Kumar Jha, disaster management minister Lakshmeshwar Rai, SC/ ST Welfare minister Ramesh Rishideo, JD(U) Minority Cell state president Tanvir Akhtar and the party’s state general secretary Suheli Mehta also addressed the sammelan, through different social media platforms.
