Ahmedabad: A man stabbed his brother-in-law with a screw driver on Monday morning, in the Fatehwadi area of city. The victim was stabbed in the stomach over a domestic quarrel.
Accused, Imrankhan Pathan’s wife Sameenabanu Pathan, 30, a resident of Fatehwadi, alleged before Vejalpur police that her husband had also thrashed her as she objected to his extra-marital affairs. Later, Imrankhan, stabbed her brother Zuber who wanted to help the couple reach a compromise.
In her FIR, Sameenabano, said that she got married to Imrankhan 16-years ago and the couple has two sons. She said that her husband, who deals in scrap business, had shown good behaviour during first three years of their married life.
But later on started extra-marital affairs. Whenever she raised this issue, he abused and attacked her. He also threatened her with dire consequences if she let anyone know about his affairs .
She said that her husband stopped giving her money for household expenditure. Sameenabano alleged that her husband thrashed her when she demanded money from him.
Fed up with her husband’s torture, she left his house and went to her parents’ place in Fatehwadi two days ago. On Monday morning, Imrankhan went to Sameenabano’s house and picked up a fight with her.
Meanwhile, Sameenabano’s brother Zuber Pathan tried to pacify him and told him to sort out the matter with her. This did not go well with Imrankhan Pathan who took out a screw driver and stabbed Zuber in his stomach.
After this Imrankhan fled from the spot and Zuber was taken to hospital. Later, she filed a complaint of assault and domestic violence against Imrankhan.
