Maharashtra: Complete shutdown in urban areas of Sangli district

KOLHAPUR: Complete lockdown will be imposed in urban areas of Sangli district from Wednesday night and will remain in effect till July 30. The jurisdiction of Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad Municipal Corporation and the municipal councils of Ashta, Islampur, Jay, Kadegaon, Kavthe-Mahankal, Khanapur and Palus will be under complete lockdown.
District guardian minister Jayant Patil conducted a review meeting on Monday where the decision to impose a lockdown was announced. Patil said though Sangli district has succeeded in arresting the surge in the number of Covid-19 cases, the lockdown was being imposed as a precautionary measure.
