AMBALA: Covid-19 patients in Ambala have started issuing threats of committing suicide if their demands for better facilities and shifting them to the same facility as their family and friends are not met, according to officials.
A patient has also demanded tp be isolated at home only, said Ambala civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh. The patients have made the demands have in the recent past threatened of committing suicides to the tthreats over the phone to medical officers.
Dr Singh said they had received three such phone calls from Covid-19 patients who threatened to commit suicide if they were not provided the facilities they wanted. “All patients are isolated at hospitals designated by the state government. Patients are isolated according to the level of their infection. In each care centre of the district, the best possible facilities are provided. There is no such issue of negligence in service or of poor quality. We have appointed medical officers who regularly visit care centres, either private or government ones, for inspection and coordination,” Dr Singh said.
