Chennai: Fight over rooster leads to murder of neighbour, 2 held

CHENNAI: Police arrested a couple for murdering a neighbour following a fight over a rooster.
Police said Anbalagan’s rooster reportedly went to Sasikumar’s house and damaged plants. Soon, a fight broke out between the two men and their wives during which Sasikumar was hit with a stone.
He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. On information, the Avadi Tank Factory police registered a case and arrested Anbalagan, a welder, and his wife Alagu Meena, 40, a resident of Arikkambedu near Avadi. The duo was remanded in judicial custody after they were produced before a magistrate court on Monday.
Police said Sasikumar of Arikkambedu worked in a private mobile company.
