Police are investigating the death of a toddler in Wales.

Officers were called to a property in Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire on Friday, July 17, and a two-year-old was taken to hospital.

The child tragically died in hospital today, police have confirmed.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of assault and neglect, reports Wales Online.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said on Tuesday that the child had "tragically passed away in hospital today".

A police spokeswoman added: "Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. The family are supported by specialist trained officers."
