Covid positive candidates will be allowed to appear for Karnataka CET examination
As per the Standard Operation Procedures, 'no candidate who is Covid positive shall be denied an opportunity to appear in the online examinations (computer-based).'
Representative ImageBengaluru: Students who are Covid positive will also be allowed to appear for the Common Entrance Test scheduled to be held on July 30 and 31, according to the SOP released by the government on Monday.
As per the Standard Operation Procedures, 'no candidate who is Covid positive shall be denied an opportunity to appear in the online examinations (computer-based).'
Strict guidelines have been issued that will be followed in order for such candidates to appear for the examination.
The candidate must inform the authorities about his/her Covid-19 status in advance for the necessary arrangements. They must also produce a medical certificate authorising that they are fit to appear for the examination. They should also provide a 'risk consent' for taking up the examination and compulsorily wear N-95 masks along with gloves. Such candidates will be transported between the examination centre and hospital by designated 108 ambulances.
A medical team with 108 ambulances will be stationed at the examination centres where separate rooms will be provided for Covid positive candidates. With three feet between each candidate, the hall will be provided with necessary equipment as well as natural ventilation. After the examination, the hall will be disinfected with 1% sodium hypochloride and cleaned.
The examination officials like invigilators, support staff have also been asked to maintain strict social distancing at all times. Six feet of distance must be maintained at all times. The computer system must be kept ready beforehand as well as the dairy for the candidates signature. Admission tickets must be signed with keeping the distance and the officials must not frequently converse with the students.
A list of general SOP has also been issued by the authorities for the CET examination. It asks authorities to ensure that crowding outside the centres is avoided at all times and necessary safety precautions are followed.
