Haryana: 55 new Covid cases, 72 discharged in Ambala; recovery rate improves

AMBALA: Fifty-five tested positive for Covid-19 in Ambala but there is also good news that 72 patients got discharged from hospital after their test result came negative on Tuesday, said civil surgeon, Dr Kuldeep Singh.
“With the recovery rate of 78.53 per cent, the total tally of Covid-19 positive cases reached 997 in the district, out of which, 728 patients got discharged, nine died and 260 are active cases," said Dr Kuldeep.
“With 72 patients getting discharged from hospital after reporting negative for Covid-19, the recovery rate has jumped to 78.53 per cent on Tuesday," he added.
"Among the 55 cases which reported positive on Tuesday, 22 are from Ambala Cantt areas, 12 from Naraingarh, 11 from Ambala City, and 10 from Barara. The majority of patients have been detected during the community surveillance in the containment zones, under contact tracing and some have travel histories from other states," the doctor further added.
As per the information, a Faridabad-based private company has donated a TRUENAT machine to the health department in Ambala which is worth about Rs 12 lakh and after installation, this would further increase the speed of testing in the district.
