Ludhiana: Congress councillor Mamta Ashu vents ire against PWD officials through Twitter

LUDHIANA: Irked over the poor condition of drainage system at southern bypass underpass in the city, Congress councillor Mamta Ashu complained to cabinet minister Vijay Inder Singla on Tuesday through her Twitter account.
"Vijay Inder Singla ji, situation of underpass along Sidhwan Canal near Ferozepur Road is very poor. Despite repeated reminders, PWD (B&R) officials failed to get gutters cleaned, resulting in water accumulation, problems to motorists and damage to the road. Kindly look into it on priority," Ashu wrote on her Twitter handle.

Talking to TOI, Ashu said, "We have asked the concerned PWD officials several times to keep the underpass drainage system intact. Pumps are not functional, so get them repaired. But our request didn't bring any results."
She said even cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu called up the officials at spot and asked them to pay attention towards the issue but to no avail.
