Ghaziabad: The district administration on Sunday instructed incident commanders to conduct real-time monitoring of surveillance teams in containment zones.
The project director of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) has been ordered to prepare a plan so that the real-time tracking of surveillance teams can be done on
Google Maps.
District magistrate (DM) Ajay Shankar Pandey said that there are at present 550 such teams and the numbers will be increased to 900 soon.
“The monitoring will include the time when they started work, the number of houses they visited and the number of people they surveyed in a day,” Pandey said.
Meanwhile, the district administration on Sunday formed five three-member teams to trace contacts of
Covid patients.
They will go to the assigned areas every morning and speak to neighbours and acquaintances to ensure that no person who came in contact with a patient is left out. The DM will keep a track of the teams’ daily work.
Pandey said that the new teams have been formed to ensure 100% compliance. “These teams are in addition to teams comprising doctors, police and administrative officials who are appointed for contact tracing,” he said, adding that the district’s recovery rate has shown a significant improvement over time.
Officials said that of 3,978 total cases, 2,583 have been discharged while 63 have succumbed to the disease, pegging the recovery and fatality rate at 64.93% and 1.58% respectively.
