Coronavirus update: With over 40,000 new cases cases, India has recorded its biggest single-day spike. The total number of coronaivrus cases in the country has reached 1,119,412. Karnataka, the new hotspot state, is nearing 65,000 cases, as Maharashtra remained the worst-hit state, with 3,10,455 cases and 11,854 casualties followed by Tamil Nadu with total 1,70,693 cases, and 2,481 deaths.

With 1,22,793 cases and 3,628 fatalities Delhi remained the third worst-hit city in the country. On a positive note, around 700,000 people have recovered from Covid-19 across the country.

Coronavirus world update: 14,664,835 people around the world have been diagnosed with Covid-19, while more than 8,748,277 have recovered, 609,291 have died, according to, according to Worldometer.

Country-wise, the United States recorded over 63,000 cases in a day. It now has 3,897,230 coronavirus cases and 143,272 deaths. Brazil has 2,099,896 cases, deaths 77,932 and India (1,119,307 cases, 27,503 deaths).
